How AGN came about
In her first design projects using architectural salvage, Jona began by finding the materials, buildings and components first and creating conceptual design plans from there. S
he became aware that this open approach allowed her to have access to the full volume of the entire available inventory, which enriched her designs. She then began to go out to the Nation to find all of the salvage people and resources she could. During this process, she worked closely with the folks all over this continent, who were working with Architectural Salvage of all kinds. They taught her how to design with it. This led to saving and reconstructing an endangered 1740s Log Building. She got hooked on Stewardship.
People began to ask her for help in finding sources for Architectural Antiques and Antique Buildings and for help in incorporating them into their designs. Thus Architectural Global Network was born. Today there are over 1200 salvage suppliers and artists in AGN’s National Highway of Connectivity. AGN is now growing steadily global.
Jona has a strong background in Professional TV, Theatre and Film. By the age of 24 she was the Production Stage Manager for the 5th Largest Regional Theatre in America and started The Philadelphia Theatre League. She has been on many non-profit boards and has saved two antique buildings from total destruction, as well as preserving 16 acres of land in a National Lands Trust Easement. Today she does advocacy for the concept of Architectural Salvage worldwide and for the Network of Professionals who are rescuing our heritage. Architectural Global Network: A Firm of Endearment Business Model
Architectural Global Network was born at The Wharton Business School as a business model called, "The Firms of Endearment", which has been the guiding philosophy of the Network collective:
“Firms of Endearment tend to align the interests of all stakeholder groups in carefully devised and managed business models, in which the objectives of each stakeholder can be met simultaneously and are in fact strengthened by other stakeholders. Instead of making them mutually vulnerable, this collectively strengthens them.”
Architectural Global Network is proud to be a Certified B Corporation™
